So you know all of those fancy machines in the engineering room? Really just these (3D printers and CNC Router)
If you want to use either of these machines, which many of the people that would hypothetically be told to read this would be, then you have to learn how to use CAD (computer aided drafting) software first. I'm sure to a lot of you this step will seem like a chore. I know it did for me, which is why I only just learned how to CAD now in my senior year. But I promise you it's a skill that any engineer should have, and one that the robotics team as well as other engineering ventures in SLA would value.
Why even use these things?
To make cool stuff. Don't you want to make cool stuff? Why don't you want to make cool stuff? It doesn't matter what you do really, just find something you find fun to design or make.
